Is anyone really surprised about team USA losing? Honestly? I don't even follow basketball that closely and I could see this coming.

International basketball is more enjoyable to watch than the NBA, and has great intensity. Agassi's win was pure theatre, but a big dud to Gael Monfils for ending my run in the US Open suicide pool...

Speaking as a Canadian, it's great to see a small upstart team beat the US - I just wish we could've qualified and done it (lets face it we have MVP Nash and that's about it).

Shanoff - loved the DQ - upset that it's gone but it is better that it went out he way it did before you 'jumped the shark' like Simmons.

I think you and I, along with many others, knew this was coming. Coach K finally even admitted it was likely his fault they lost. He has never been able to coach in tough games (just ask Jim Calhoun).

So, when are they going to load this team with guys like Michael Redd? The team we had was impressive, but they were all cut and slasher types and there was nary a ice in the veins shooter out there. The approach to putting the team together is all wrong. Folks like James and Wade are perfect for this team, if and ONLY if, you add players like Redd who can knock down the open shot and force teams out of the zone.

If you think the USA doesn't have the best players in the world you're on something. Int. Hoops is played on a weird court with weird rules and awful refs. We still don't have our best team out there. I've stopped caring about Int. hoops until they adopt a NBA court and rules.
