I have n...This is something I wrote this afternoon. I have not altered it and am currently 5 for 5.

Portland Trailblazers – Greg Oden (Ohio State) – This is pretty much a no brainer. Durant could be a bigger star but this is too obvious. Oden is going to be a great center for a long time. Him and Zach Randolph make a very good combination down low.
Seattle Supersonics – Kevin Durant (Texas) – Assuming the ‘Blazers take Oden, I’m not sure how this could go any other way.
Atlanta Hawks – Al Horford (Florida) – They could have an interesting line-up next year if they get a point guard tonight also. Think whoever that new point guard is, plus Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford, and Zaza Pachulia. That’s pretty solid.
Memphis Grizzlies – Mike Conley Jr. (Ohio State) – Conley isn’t deffinitly the best player at this spot, but there’s no way that they risk taking Yi Jianlian because of the scenario that the Chinese government bans him from playing in small market. That said, it is possible that Conley could make this tem great when he learns how to work with Pau Gasol.
Boston Celtics – Jeff Green (Georgetown) – If I were Danny Ainge I would take Yi. But I think that he will get scared of the murmurs about Yi being the next bust. Jeff Green could do well alongside Paul Pierce and Al Jefferson. I’m not quite sure how ready he is to play though. He didn’t exactly show up in April…
Milwaukee Bucks – Corey Brewer (Florida) – I think that the Bucks will be able to fit Brewer with Andrew Bogut and Mo Williams (who they will resign) to make a pretty decent team.
Minnesota Timberwolves – Yi Jianlian (China) – Great addition here for the T’wolves. It is going to be very hard to defend Kevin Garnett and Yi on the wings at the same time. The size alone will be a huge issue for any defense.
Charlotte Bobcats – Brandan Wright (North Carolina) – Michael Jordan selects a Tar Heel? Wouldn’t be shocked if it happened. Although I also wouldn’t be shocked if this pick was traded.
Chicago Bulls – Julian Wright (Kansas) – He fits their style and would be a great addition to their stock of great young players with trade value and TUP (tremendous upside potential).
Sacramento Kings – Al Thornton (Florida State) – The Kings would be in search of a player that can play right away. Thornton is that guy in every way. His age and experience are welcome on this team as is his skill set.
Atlanta Hawks – Acie Law IV (Texas A&M) – They will use this pick for a point guard and they want the guy with big games under his belt.
New Orleans Hornets – Nick Young (USC) – They need a big guard. He is a big guard. Problem solved.
Philadelphia 76ers – Spencer Hawes (Washington) – They would take Joakim Noah here but they would rather have a guy who COULD become a star instead of someone who will be a good bench player.
Los Angeles Clippers – Joakim Noah (Florida) – This is pretty much a BPA (best player available) pick but I think Noah could become a good 6th man in LA.
Detroit Pistons – Rodney Stuckey (Eastern Washington) – This has the potential to be one of those times when there’s a guy who was drafted in the middle of the 1st round from a small school and becomes a superstar.
Washington Wizards – Jason Smith (Colorado State) – With the rumors that the Wizards intend to trade both Brendan Haywood and Eton Thomas during this offseason to improve their bench, this is a great pick. The Wiz get the size they need to add to a line-up that will include DeShawn Stevenson, Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antwan Jamison.
New Jersey Nets – Tiago Splitter (Brazil) – The Nets need size here to put with their big three because Nenad Kristic isn’t quite going to cut it. They could take a BPA pick here with Javaris Crittenton, but I don’t think they will.
Golden State Warriors – Thaddeus Young (Georgia Tech) – This is a great pick because it is size to add to a running game. That kind of thing isn’t common and it is possible that he isn’t on the board at this point, but if he is this is where he goes barring someone else dropping like a stone.
Los Angeles Lakers – Javaris Crittenton (Georgia Tech) – This pick is interesting because the Lakers need somebody else to team with Kobe (assuming they still have him) and Smush Parker doesn’t count.
Miami Heat – Marco Belinelli (Italy) – There isn’t a perticulary good pick to make here for the Heat. This is pretty much a BPA pick with a side of the possibility of a good backcourt team with Dwayne Wade now that Jason Williams won’t be around much longer.
Philadelphia 76ers – Josh McRoberts (Duke) – He probably won’t be a good pro, but Billy King is pretty dumb and they need size and Billy King is dumb.
Charlotte Bobcats – Rudy Fernandez (Spain) – They need guards so he fills a hole. He is 22, so he’s ready to play now and can contribute.
New York Knicks – Sean Williams (Boston College) – Isiah Thomas loves to get guys who may or may not fit together so this seems to make sense because guys that got kicked off college teams should be put in New York with all the other head cases.
Phoenix Suns – Morris Almond (Rice) – If the Suns are smart, which they have been in the past, they will make this pick because the real insiders are saying that this guy is going to be the next Michael Redd. Think about Michael Redd on the Suns. Yeah, I’m scared too.
Utah Jazz – Derrick Byars (Vanderbilt) – This is the we-don’t-know-what-it-is-that-we-need-but-we-like-this-guy pick. Happens every year at the end of the first round.
Houston Rockets – Daequan Cook (Ohio State) – They don’t need a scorer or a big man. They do need a shooter, so this is their guy.
Detroit Pistons – Marc Gasol (Spain) – They could take Aaron Gray here if they are scared enough of foreign guys from the Darko pick but something tells me they take Gasol. While he is the same size(ish) of his brother, he is more of a low post guy and that’s what the Pistons need right now.GuyInTheCornerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10281686811471557576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624629.post-90387177445742390592007-06-28T19:55:00.000-04:002007-06-28T19:55:00.000-04:00boston gets ray allenseattle gets #5 (jeff green),...boston gets ray allen

seattle gets #5 (jeff green), wally and delonteJohn Paul Manahanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02470920555760012526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624629.post-41272786360586357042007-06-28T19:49:00.000-04:002007-06-28T19:49:00.000-04:00This is the first time I cheer for a Gator.Go Hawk...This is the first time I cheer for a Gator.

Go HawksMatt Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12025500546395746323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624629.post-82204573379045967412007-06-28T19:38:00.000-04:002007-06-28T19:38:00.000-04:00oden #1, but not much applause.i wonder if durant ...oden #1, but not much applause.

i wonder if durant would have a bigger applauseJohn Paul Manahanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02470920555760012526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624629.post-10635069576969105242007-06-28T19:30:00.000-04:002007-06-28T19:30:00.000-04:00OUTRO MUSIC:HOT: Pop punkNOT: Gangsta rapDavid Ste...OUTRO MUSIC:

HOT: Pop punk
NOT: Gangsta rap

David Stern's most nefarious plan.Raskolnikovhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17857869318197597100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624629.post-11241288361663272532007-06-28T19:26:00.000-04:002007-06-28T19:26:00.000-04:00Joakim Noah's attire, brought to you by Tom WolfeJoakim Noah's attire, brought to you by Tom WolfeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624629.post-20240234889518081062007-06-28T19:22:00.000-04:002007-06-28T19:22:00.000-04:00Is your prediction real or just to spite all of us...Is your prediction real or just to spite all of us?pv845https://www.blogger.com/profile/05318367429970619320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624629.post-69873047182461400852007-06-28T19:12:00.000-04:002007-06-28T19:12:00.000-04:00Was it Erin Andrews that flashed the draftees?
