Wow, early November Saturdays are a perfect time to just sit on the couch and watch college football all day. (Wait: Isn't that "parenting?" No?)
CFB Games I'm Watching/Tracking Today (thank you, GamePlan): Michigan-Wisconsin, Arkansas-Tennessee, Illinois-Ohio State, Auburn-Georgia, Kansas-Oklahoma State and, of course, Florida-South Carolina. Rooting for that insane three-road-win SEC East parlay...
Yao vs. Yi in China: Want to know why David Stern, LeBron, Nike, ESPN and everyone else is so obsessed with China? Because in all likelihood, more people watched the game between Yao's Rockets and Yi's Bucks than watched the last four Super Bowls...combined.
A-Rod Watch: Joe Torre says he's open to A-Rod joining the Dodgers. I think this kind of public statement (along with the Dodgers' unique capacity to handle A-Rod's salary requirements) instantly makes L.A. the front-runner to sign A-Rod.
I think it will come down to the Angels and the Dodgers, which will make Scott Boras happy: When two teams from the same market battle, there is a zero-sum outcome that will naturally drive his price up.
NBA: Yes, the Celtics are the NBA's best team, and they have the unbeaten record (the last unbeaten record in the league) to prove it. Sure, you could question their schedule softness so far, but the Hawks are an up-and-coming team (that beat the Suns, no less), and the Celtics just destroyed them.

P.S.: Remember in August when I put Tim Tebow at No. 2 on my Heisman Watch list, and everyone mocked me? While I'm not going to bust out the "Told you so" about Ohio State, I don't mind doing it about Tebow. Yesterday was arguably his best game yet: 5 rushing TDs and 120 rushing yards, 2 passing TDs and a career-best 304 passing yards. 7 total TDs. 424 total yards. Wow. No question: He's a system QB -- a bulkier Alex Smith -- but you can not be a Tebow fan but still respect the way he's executing that system.

Holy crap, I am first to post. Oh wait, I'm at work on a Saturday AM-that's why.
Make sure you WATCH the Buckeyes when that game is on. Just turning the game on, watching one play and then changing the station doesn't count.
And, yes Dan, watching CFB on a Saturday afternoon is "parenting" in my book. Then, when your child wants to watch his show or "CARS" for the 200 billionth time, you just go to one of the other TVs and use a variety of excuses as to why you keep leaving the room. Since Gabe is still pretty young, make sure he's safe.
Now, at 3:30, my son has no choice but to watch the Buckeyes. This is when he will want to read books, color or jump on me and wrestle. Since my husband will still be at work, I will opt for coloring since it's the quietest of the three.
GO BUCKS!!
I'd be shocked if one of the Celts' big three doesn't get hurt. They're good, but they've got to run out of juice without any depth eventually, right?
Jen I was actually going to put up a lame I got first comment but dan just didn't inspire me this morning whereas you did. I think it is because my sis is named jen and she has three kids under 6 and she is thankful for the three odd hours a week the bucs game is on because it is the one time all her kids are quiet. I would reccomend a thimble of vodka in his milk if he is over 3. Either that or force feed your son a few turkey sandwiches. I know that makes us adults pass out around 4 on turkey day.
I am lookin forward to the UI/OSU game. I really like what Zook is doing even if I find it hard to watch a team that wears Auburn colors.
Go figure the season I move form orlando and the MAgic actually resemble a real basketball team.
Ok Dan, so I guess the Hornets were the best team last year when the were the last unbeaten team. AYFKM? nice analysis.
not only is that a poor analysis but you also are inconsistent...

Um but OSU is not really the best team in college football because even though they have the best record they haven't played anyone. oops.
Good call, sparty.
How can OSU be the best team in the nation when they are clearly going to lose today. Actually I think it is going to be really close and I could totally see an upset. I look at it this way Zook has a better team this year than he did when he took UF to tally to christen Ron Zook Field and with things as screwy as they have been this year it makes sense they would pull the upset.
I wonder when I started hating OSU. If anything I should like them since without them UF wouldn't have either of their Titles.
I am looking in to Doctoral programs and MFA's and was curious if any of y'all readers could recommend a School to go to. It has to be within three hours of chicago and has to be Div I. I was thinking I could be the AntiDan and go to Northwestern and give up my gator fandom since my girl loves NW. Yeah right. I think my only real options are ND, NW, UI, Purdue, and maybe Northern IL. Anyone know of any more round here. I figure since it is saturday and there aren't many posts usually I wont piss too many of y'all off.
now I don't like you heroin.
What the mother fuck. Apparently, I didn't hear about the legislation that was passed to make Shawn Crable illegal.
If T. Donovan doesn't want to get tackled, he should probably stay off the football field.
And Erin Andrews just said Bielema is lobbying to get Crable thrown off the field because he has 2 personal fouls. Is that some kind of rule? Are they playing basketball?
Fuck that.
Dan, Come on. Celtics the are the best team after 4 games??? Did you already replace your agent 0 jersey with a K.G.?
That's not fair Mike, Dan was a Cetics fan 20 years ago, when they were good. There was a girl in his nursery school from Boston.
Dan, Let's hear thoughts regarding Michigan/Wisconsin, i.e. Wisconsin being a another crappy win for OSU, Alabama scoring 22 less points against Miss. St than LSU through 3 1/2 quarters, WVU scoring 35 on Miss. St in like 20 seconds, and LSU's defense being so awesome but the SEC offenses are just so sweet that they can only hope to contain them enough to win the game.
Also, I hope Kentucky finishes last in the SEC East.
well the vols just ruined dan's parlay and perhaps McFadden's heisman chances.
yep, so now when OSU beat Michigan next week, Dan can say that was another crap win for the Buckeyes.
See Dan cannot go back on what he has said all year, otherwise he would be eating his crow too early, and he doesn't want to chance it because of the possibility of OSU losing in the title game. Then he can say, see I told you so.
10 of 11 teams in the Big Ten are now bowl eligible, in case any SEC fans need to cure their myopia.
@ sparty
I'm going to completely plagerize AYFKM. A lot.

That made me laugh out loud, well played.
Jen you might not like me now but damn if OSU looks more like OSU high. Do they have those up there university high schools affiliated with the local college? All the state schools in Florida have a university high school. Regardless OSU looks like they aren't all that good.
look at that vaunted OSU defense...allowing an 8 minute drive to end the game at home...with everything on the line!!
Ahhhh I love the upsets...and will love hearing the end of the supporters of the Big Ten after today
and dan's nightmare is finally over. congrats illini
I guess Dan has been right all year about how weak OSU has been. Zook is gonna start crying like a bitch on tv. People mock him but damn he is doing good stuff. No way the gators win that title last year without the groundwork he laid. You gotta give props to the Illini.
Great game by Illinois today, and horrible preparation by Ohio State. The entire defense stood around waiting for Juice Williams to make his decision with the ball instead of attacking the ball. Probably the second worst coaching performance by Tressel. Illinois ran an offense very similar to Florida and, shocker, it worked.
That being said, The Game next week is still for a shot at the Rose Bowl, a potential matchup against USC or Arizona St, and the outright Big Ten title. The loser likely is headed to the Capital One Bowl (if OSU loses) or The Outback Bowl or worse (if Michigan).
The Big Ten has proven today that it has 5 solid teams, and a few other decent ones, and I'm looking forward to them showing the nation it is a strong league in the postseason.
Next week, I will take OSU 27 Michigan 17. Henne and Hart are banged up and I think OSU matches up great.
oops, doh!
