Quickish!
The Daily Quickie's run on ESPN.com might be over today, but that doesn't mean we can't continue the conversation.

that is really pathetic, get a life....
I love ghost wipes.
I love Anonymous.
I'm gonna laugh my ass off when all these tools show up at 9 looking for the MQ. TOOLS.
Very depressing.
Danny is Mr. Quickie more than just at work, if you know what I mean.
Just ask Mrs. Quickie.
shut the hell up dusty.

regular MQ'ers = Pillow Biters.
hey i will read your blog as much as i did before...i wish you good luck and success
Jesus Christ dude, get the fuck over yourself Nova, we don't all have to think like you do.
people who keep chiming in a "regular mq'ers" really need to get a life.
you all just suck up to Shasselhoff to get posted.
Dan, I'm in college now and had no chance of making it this morning... I just read the finale and want to add my appreciation for the great mornings together... I just need to post my last MLB STUD: Dan, I hope to see you at CM Wang's Cy Young press conference.
ESPN does not have the worst FFL manager. Go check out EA Sports. It costs 50 bucks, and the interface is horrible.
Why would you take news from foxsports?
Ew.
Since I always got to work with a few minutes to spare, I read the DQ at lunchtime...good thing I am in a different office and we've got a kitchen to go eat in!
I'm with the rest of the group....what gives with the end of the Daily Quickie??? DO tell!
Aw man, what am I supposed to read in the morning?!
And btw, stop beating yourself up over calling the Red Sox "done" in 2004. Look, they were down 3-0 even after Game 2. I certainly would have bet against them.
What happened with ESPN?
This has been loads of fun. And by "this" I mean the DQ and all the people with nothing better to do than read a column they hated, follow the columnist to his new blog, and post ill-conceived and mean-spirited comments on his first post. God bless America.
Been with you from the beginning... Looking forward to the blog.
Getting rid of Shanoff is the best website move in the ESPN era
Glad you're keeping it up, the quickie was the first webpage I opened every morning, even on saturday and sunday (which was dissapointing when I realized it was the weekend). I'm not gonna lie, I'll be a little lost in the morning.

Man! Will miss my DQ Fix in the mornings when I get to the office. Keep up the good work Dan!
JabroniUNC, I see that reading comprehension is a weakness of yours. It's been proven that me, nova, nor Theny read the last Quickie. We found the blog on another site, and came here, and saw this. We had to act
Looks like The Nova Report and other such places want to leech off the DQ's demise and Dan moving over here.. who knows.. if five or ten folks move over there.. it'd double their readership.
I look forward to this. Page 2 has jumped over a shark, then about 5 more sharks.
Thanks for making the DQ my daily dose for the inside stuff in sports that doesn't make the print. Hope you keep it up here! :-)
I loved the quickie. Will be interesting to see what goes up... I'll miss the artwork.
Oh well.
dear lame-oids, if you think the daily quickie is so wonderful, well, you're idiots fawning over this no-talent hack of a jackass. waaah, what will i do in the morning, waaaaah. why not spend the extra two hours tidying up the group home, maybe the staff will give you extra privileges.
I'm looking forwad to Buzz's morning chat, it will be much better. Shammy played favorites too much and posted the same people's lame comments over and over and over again. The "regulars" were really boring and no doubt huge dorks. All they would do was suck up and pander to Shammy's ego.
And the DQ wasn't much better. No real analysis and it was basically a poor attempt at regurgitating Sportscenter. How many awful predictions did he make?
Get a life people.
The Daily Quickie was my routine same at showering shaving and brushing my teeth. Glad to see your pithy comments on sports will still be out there.
We need a Quickie response to that US loss to Greece....What is up with our US National teams?? Thank god for swimming and women's soccer.

I'll pass.
It may double my readership, but it would cut percentage of heterosexual readers in half. I've got a demographic to look after...
I read the QD every morning. Never missed it.... I'm sad to see it go...
How ESPN can leave crackhead Michael Irvin and the unwanted ugly redheaded stepchild idiot Skip Bayless with their company is beyond me. You're about 35x more tolerable and talented on an average day then they are on their best.
For anyone looking to see the cartoon genius that is larry johnson, he has a cartoon sometime at http://www.weei.com//Article.asp?id=170970
you can also find more from our favorite cartoonist here.

I'll surely miss the daily quickie, it was one of the highlights of my day. It was accurate and insightful, and the predicitons were fun. Best of luck.
Its 9:40 and I am walking around in a strange, clouded stupor. What am I supposed to do now? Work? Never really posted much, but loved reading the MQ as I pretended to work every morning. Good luck with whatever you future plans are Dan.
hated 2 c u end the quickie. read it every morning, but i will now come here every moring and read.
I'm sad that the quickie is gone.. I will be checking here
The hell? I was looking forward to some blurbs on the blog this morning... nothing... i miss the MQ already...
I think it's very interesting that people have such violent feelings over a columnist -- but then sports (silly games that interest us so much) inspires that.
In any case, despite the fact that I disagreed with Dan on, oh, maybe all the time, and despite the fact that I sort of despise the Instant History gimmack, like many others I bookmarked the DQ because it was a great one-stop view on nearly every sports topic of the day.
Even if ESPN agreed with many here that Dan was a bad writer (he wasn't, although his sports sense like most sports writers was often in error he always wrote with punch and flair -- and for those of you who decry the One. Trick. Man. at least admit he actually invented something clever) getting rid of the DQ was a Big Mistake -- they could have continued it with another writer.
So -- I'll continue to drop in here from time to time as long as Dan covers many topics (if he starts to be too much of a one-topic guy I'll give it up). I'm too busy to spend a lot of time on games, no matter how much I enjoy watching them, so the wrap up that was the DQ will always have a place and purpose in my life.
I take great comfort in the fact that there are other sentient creatures out there who realize how much of a hack Shanoff really is.
Kudos to you kind ESPN/Disney masters, one step in the right frigging direction shitcanning this llama.
