Madden 07: $100M!

Just read that Madden '07 sold $100 million in its first week. That is eyes-wide HUGE. I'll hopefully have more to say about that next week, but I just found that total staggering. Not necessarily so surprising -- but just a large, large number that clarifies the significance of the Madden phenomenon.

Doesn't make up for the fact the defense response time STINKS!!!

But, that is amazing...then again, how hard is it to be tops in a one horse race...damn you EA NFL license exclusivity!

Are there THAT many people that do nothing but play video games!?

I need to ask my brothers if they both bought it (my gut feeling says "yes"! LOL)

they got rid of u for liericks that made sense. The same people that came up with that decision probably made the Barry Bonds T.V. show

for those of you with your tongues oh so firmly placed on the shammy taint, tell me something. if this guy is so good and the quickie is so goddamned essential in so many lives, they why, when his contract ran out, did espn.com tell him not to let the door hit him on the way out? and why did no other site or media outlet scoop him up? why the hell is he on blogspot, with every other chucklehead with a modem and a dream that anyone and everyone gives a shit about what they think (er, no offense nova, you fine young buck you).

Is there an RSS feed for your blogger Dan? It's easier for me to read it where I get all my news, but it says the person who writes it has to have a Pro account or whatever. Let us know, thanks!

Granted it is much easier to market something that has no direct competition (NFL anyway), but EA did a great job running with promoting the release date as a new holiday, "Maddenoliday".

As for R. Farva's ("Car Ram-Rod!") comments....remember Playmakers? Pretty decent show, but they made a biz decision to cancel it. They also OK'd Barry's show....

"how hard is it to be tops in a one horse race"

The Sega Sports ("2k games") for NFL were way better than the Madden series. The only reason they fell flat is because people are so close-minded about converting. I've met several people that have converted from Madden to 2k, but I've never met someone who has PLAYED the 2k and Madden games, and legitmately thought that Madden was better. Oh well, here's to the monopoly.
