Appreciate the love for the Pats, but let them get past the Bears this week - then I'll celebrate.

Colts still deserve to be #1, or #2 at worst. One close road loss does not a season make. Or something like that.

The Pats lose to the Bronocos, Colts and the #19 Jets and yet sit #2?

Intersesting logic.

Agree with Big D.

Pats fan here, but there's no way we deserve #2.

1. Chargers
2. Colts
3. Bears
4. Pats

Give Shanoff a little credit - at least this time he remembered there are 32 NFL teams.

I got a pick to nit:

24. Vikings
25. Packers

Uh, they're both 4-6, the Packers beat the Vikings two weeks ago, and the Packers beat the opponent that Minnesota lost to this weekend.

If you wanted to penalize the Packers for Favre being injured, ok, except he *is* playing on Monday night (252 and counting!). So I don't understand the logic here. They should be swapped.

I'm glad they have playoffs in the NFL. Although I don't understand the Patriots at #2, they have 3 losses, all 3 at home, good thing they'll have to go on the road in the playoffs, if they can get by that home game in the wildcard round.

BREAKING SPORTS NEWS: Twins first baseman Justin Morneau won the American League Most Valuable Player Award today, beating out Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz, who finished second and third, respectively.

A win for Morneau is a win for America.

am I the only one who thinks it's funny that chrth had a "nit to pick" about the packers and vikings down at 24 and 25? "We're not the 7th worst team in the NFL Dan, we're the 8th worst... COME ON!"

Hey, when you have to sign Todd Bouman to be your QB, you take any little victory you can get.

Pats at #2 is just ridiculous. I can't even say anything more about it. And i'm a Pats fan also

Why are the Dolphins ridiculed for this? They did something noone else ever has. And they take pride when they look back upon their achievement, specifically because of how hard it is to do.

anyone who even suggests that the colts lost to dallas on purpose has to be retarded.

I think the Colts should be #1. A close road loss and a complete non-call of pass interference on an interception at the goal-line. They got screwed by the refs in that one.

As for San Diego, it is hard to disagree. But 2 weeks in a row they have been down 21 and 17 points. I'll admit the comebacks have been astounding and shows how really good they are. But they need to do that all game, not just when they feel like it. Going down 17 might work two or three times during the regular season, but try pulling that in the playoffs. They might not be able to pull that rabbit out of the hat again.

Dan, you should include last weeks rating so we can see what the big movers were... just a thought.

thanks

From The Best Seat in the House is the View From the Couch:

"Let’s see… they (The Broncos)coughed up a 17-point lead at home, their quarterback is collapsing like his last name is Manning, and they have to play on an extremely short week. This has all the makings of the Broncos landing at about #17 next week."
