Have a Great Weekend: Open Post

I'm traveling this weekend and with that storm headed toward NYC on Sunday, I'm not sure if I'll even get to post before Monday. I will try, but otherwise, I leave it up to you all in the Comments section to pick up on the biggest storylines of the weekend. Have a great weekend, everyone. Seriously great effort this week in the Comments section. -- D.S.

After 6 years of missing the playoffs I have forgotten how stressful it was to watch the Penguins in playoff hockey. Good game though the young guys really came through. Staal had a huge goal and Crosby scored the game winner with the shaft of his stick on a play set up by Recchi and Malkin. The ood guy, Roberts, had a timely goal and his hit set up Staal for his goal. Fluery had a HUGE save in the last minute. They showed real heart being able to come back twice in the third period to win this game. They really answered the bell physically in this game and I'm feeling a bit better about tomorrow's game in Pittsburgh

Yankees pitching is as shaky as I thought it was going to be.

After Islanders won their last regular season game in such dramatic fashion, I thought they were going to get swept by the Sabres. Hey, at least they won a game and come back to a rocking colliseum with the series at 1-1. I have no delusions but nice to win a game.

Also did you see the Rangers first goal yesterday? Rangers tried to clear it around the offensive boards, the goalie comes out to cut it off and it takes a weird rebound off the glass and before the goalie can react, it goes in.

I thought the Isles would have gotten swept too but having their stud goalie come back was an amazing bonus for them and I think it really boosted them.

Yeah that goal by the Rangers was nuts. Totally lucky I guess this is the sporting gods way of saying "Atlanta this is not your year"

Umm why does Stephan A. Smith work Sunday Sportscenter now? Does anybody actually like listening to him? Check that does anybody actually not have the desire to hit the mute button when he opens his mouth?

Couple of big things caught my eye; 1) the size of the waves on the Hatteras shoreline this morning, in NC for a wedding...Wednesday, awesome. 2) That Greg Oden is ACTUALLY thinking about coming back next year, as reported by MC Sr. What intrigues me the most is that during the season, he had dropped the comment a copule times during the season that he wanted to come back as he believes that he's not ready for the demands, both mentally and physically, of NBA ball. Personally, I think that is awesome, ballsy & admorable. I think that shows that he is ready and just as mature as he needs to be. Still want him back in college.

How about 6 games being rained out in the northeast on Sunday? Nats-Mets, 'Stros-Phillies, Giants-Pirates DH, Angels-Sawks, and Royals-Os. These teams are catching up with the Mariners and Indians for future makeup DHs. And only one of these series is a division matchup (Nats-Mets).

Since when did the Nationals get out of NCAA DIII and into the NL East? Did they win a tournament or something?
