DS.com Blog Reveal, Part 2: When It Rains...
Introducing My New MySpace Page

So I have a new MySpace page. You can find it using the link on the right or just click here. (Warning: My page isn't impressive... at all. No, seriously.)

Going back to the days of the Quickie, readers regularly emailed asking if I was on MySpace. I wasn't before. I am now. Yikes. OK, yes, I'm doing it to stay cool with the kids.

No, I wasn't inspired by feature stories about Carmelo Anthony's MySpace presence, but I am going to find a way to make that relevant:

The Shanoff-vs-Carmelo MySpace Challenge! Simply: Can I reach (and maintain) at least 1 percent of the total of Melo's friend empire? Let the challenge begin!

Comments Question: So, besides Carmelo, which notable friends should I be trying to connect with? (Wait: Does Sarah Spain count as notable? Maybe on MySpace...)

Me! I sent you a friend request late last night. Wait, does that appear desperate and sad? Eh, I am what I am.

Fan of The Office? Many of the regulars have myspace pages and do in character blogging. Read about it on wikipedia; about how the actors spend a lot of time just staring at computer screens while other things are being filmed.

Come on, being Tara Reid's friend isnt that hard. Just have some booze and smokes and she'll be all over you! But definitely attainable for DS.

Noooooo...not MySpace!

That site is intended for minors. No adults belong on that site, its sick!

I'm on MySpace. I don't add celeb pages because most of the time they are posers or fake. The only celeb I have on my friends list is Dane Cook. Otherwise it is all people I know. So Dan, you should feel special. You are only the second "celeb" that I have added. lol, j/k man.

Exactly :) Aim low, then work your way up.

Dan, If I add you will you make me your number 1?

I joined last year when a buddy of mine from high school wanted to reconnect, it's SHOCKING how many people have come out of the woodwork...I used to be against MySpace, but I have reconnected with people I didn't know still existed.

Does that make me wierd?

Just think, you could branch out from a sports blog to a celebrity blog. You and Perez Hilton could hang out.

Since you are jewish why not try to get some great jewish athletes to be your friends. I dount you could have the greatest of them all sandy koufax but maybe shawn green is on there. You can be my friend too and as a regular commenter and fellow gator fan maybe I could make your top 16 but I ain't holding my breathe.

MySpace has been downhill since all the underage girls had their profiles set to private.

Seriously, I have a myspace but I don't know what to do with it. Can't I just email or call the people who would be on the there? why do i need a special page to do that? I like it for checking out different bands and such but as far as talking to people, I just don't get it.

I'm pretty sure Agent Zero has an official myspace page. I'm actually surprised he's not your friend already...

Dan, MySpace is so 2006. I thought you were trying to be on the cutting edge of things, joining MySpace a year late isn't helping you at all.
