Some topics are better off by themselves. Easier to talk about that way. But then there are like little things that you might be better off grouping together. There are just some stories that are meatier than others. Also (I don't know if I missed any...very possible) it would be nice to see some of your comments to our comments in the "Reader Reaction".
I like the way so far. For things that happen and should be commented on quickly (like usa hoops), individual posts are great. The longer posts are great for the collection of thoughts on things (like the whole college review). Great work no matter what, keep it up.
For the most part I like the Quickie style breakdown. I am the type of reader that is not likely to comment on your posts (what am I doing here then?? I have no idea), so I like them all in one place. But if you chose to go with individual posts, I'd still read. Just keep writing Dan, I like your stuff!

I think the comments so far have it about right. The MQ dealt with several big topics on an individual (or 'Studs and Duds') basis, followed by a free-for-all, so how about three or four detailed posts, followed by a round-up of other news/analysis?
Individual posts for the main topics, then mix together all the minor news in a one post "free for all". And I can't believe you've doomed the Buckeyes.
I like it so far, because, for instance, I have nothing to say about Ohio State, but i have some input on other topics.
Major stories (i.e. Mack Brown and Texas) in their own, and then quick wrap-ups for the smaller ones all together.
i agree with phil...quickie style rundown of the morning's hot topics/headlines (as opposed to reading through several posts for each topic)...good for short attention span of the internet...and i like that you have links and URLs for further reading...either way, keep on writing!

i like the quickie style but if you want to expand your style of writing to more than just quickie that's fair enough. either way it's great but my vote is for quickie-style
Expanding on what chris uk said, you should have a morning "Studs & Duds" thread where us in the commentariat can throw out the studs and duds of the (yester)day. You may even need to have seperate NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL S&D threads. Otherwise, just have a morning round-up post/thread, and have seperate threads for bigger stories (playoffs, super bowl, etc). my $.02

A mix is fine. I'm sure by now you know which topics are going to generate larger responses so those should be individual, but quick thoughts can be grouped.
Too many big topics in one post makes following one subject in the comments a little brutal.
I agree that major stories should have their own posts and others can be grouped. Either way keep up the good work -- glad to have you back in my life again.....why can't I quit you??!?
I like the idea of individual posts. It makes it easier to hone in on topics of interest and to work our way down the list. Regardless, love the blog and happy I can still get my quickie like fix in the mornings. I was worried.

I like an individual post or two, and then a wrapup of the morning, but whatever works for you is good.
Quickie was my morning life's blood - so anything that is similar is fine with me - jsut keep it pumping Dan!
I'm just happy you are still around! Quickie Style is good for the ADD crowd, I like getting the brief recaps. If it's a major topic then giving it it's own post is nice so you can go a little more in depth. In any case, do whatever you feel like, we are just grateful to have anything to read from you.

Individual posts. But I also agree with what kurt (ct) said—your lack of presence on these post pages is a little off-putting. Enough people have asked about what happened with ESPN, or they've asked direct questions, and they've been ignored. I think people are going to stop coming to these pages if they feel you don't go to them yourself.

I like the comprehensive Quickie-style digest of news/opinion - there aren't too many online sources that provide that. I think that format is what lured most of us here to the blog.

I thought I liked it in one chunk, but the individual comments are pretty great, so I now change my vote to "split 'em up".
I have to go with Individual Posts, I never sounded off on the Quickie, but I just wanted to tell you that you are a great writer and the quickie will be missed, I dont even bother heading to the ESPN.com page in the morning now, because that is how I started my day. Thank you for making this blog and staying in touch with the readers.

I think you should do both. Just use your best guess at the best topics and single post them. Then do a quick hitter on the rest.

I like the idea of breaking it down into separate areas. Like keep all college football and nfl separate and separating out each sport into one comments section. Keep up the good work.
I'd say keep it as Quickie format... A lot of us (well, me at least) miss waking up and heading to Page 2 to check the Quickie.
Plus, making all those posts would be a pain, right?
As to your dilema in whether to post individually or quickie-style, I say LET DEMOCRACY RULE! I think you would agree that one must read in order to comment, but not everyone comments. Thus, logic dictates that there are more readers than commenters. With that fact established you must do what is best for the greater good of mankind. Make your posts easier to READ by using Quickie-Style all topics in one stew format. I have a feeling that Commentors will figure out how to leave you their comments.

Some topics deserve a lone post and then others could become a potpurri style with many different topics in them. I think doing a little of both will satisfy all of us dedicated readers. I am just glad to have my quickie back. Simmons just won't post enough to keep me satisfied. Great work!

I think while it remains in a blog format, you should have each topic in its own post. If you start to develop your own site, maybe that would be different.

i think i like them all in one big hunk. formal-like, and then you can add your little tidbits as the day progresses in a more informal form, should you choose so. but, you know, not "quickie"-style, for you're on a new bit of life, eh? the quickie is dead, long live the quickie.
and, fwiw, this is the only blogspot blog i'll make it a point to read. why these guys don't do rss is beyond me...

Especially for ridiculously long posts like this morning's, splitting them up is the way to go.
But if you group together the MLB posts, and the NCAAFB posts, and (eventually) the NFL game recap posts, that would make sense.
I like the biggest stories on individual posts, but the smaller stuff all on one recap.
