The way Shockey is acting in NY, I can't see him lasting through another season. In the 1st half, he had a bad penalty in the "green zone" (as Coughlin calls it), spent time between plays (while on the field) talking with Siragusa, and he generally seems out of control. All of this on top of of his "outcoached" statement makes it seem like something has got to change.

How about Indianapolis struggling in the first half, again? They're being shutout by the 0-4 Titans through the first half...

Not sure what happened to the Colts offense...oh that's right they thought they didn't need Edge.

Favre blows the game with a 4th quarter turnover. Again. What a surprise.

The Lions pucker away a 14 point 4th quarter lead by allowing 23 unanswered points by the Vikings... if the Lions win a single game this year, color me impressed.

Arrgh! I'm visiting th Bay area, and as of Friday, they hadn't sold out the Raiders/Niners game, so it was supposed to be blacked out. The league must have given them an extension, because when I tuned in to see the T. O. circus, all I could get was the pathetic matchup of two of th worst teams in the NFL.

I am watching the Eagles-Cowboys game and I am not sure which is worse:
1)the media's overhype of T.O.
2)Bledsoe's terrible play
3)Both teams making turnovers left and right as if this is a j.v. middle school game.

How good was that play by Ware? Great speed from a defensive end.

I have to say: this new excessive celebration rule is the most ridiculous thing to come to professional football since, well, the XFL. I mean, seriously, fifteen yards? For celebrating a touchdown? It's absurd.

Super Bears, Super Bowl. You cannot stop Sexy Rexy Grossman or the D-line of the Bears. The Bruise Brothers are in full effect.

Man that gradkowski isn't half bad. He didn't make too many mistakes was pretty accurate and had two td's and no picks in his debut. There must be something in that water they give those players from the MAC. The bucs might actually win a few games this year.

I'm so glad this Eagles/Cowboys game is close. I didn't want this game to be all TO, but rather a pivotal game between 2 NFC East Squads.

Greg said...

Joe Buck will not allow this game to be about anything other than TO.

Shut up! Please! It hasn't been a great game or anything, but continually focusing on the number 2 receiver for one of the teams even when the other offense is on the field reminds me why I dislike him more than any other announcer.

What a thrilling finish! Cowboys down 24-31, Bledsoe gets sacked twice in a row, bombs it on 4th and 18 and the Eagles def. gets called for pass interference on the 5 yard line. First and goal Cowboys. Misses an open T.O. Next play--classic Bledsoe: intercepted by Lito Sheppard and returned 100+ yards for a TD. GAME OVER!

In the final minute of the first half of Chargers-Steelers, S.D.'s 6'5" WR Malcolm Floyd just leaped and caught a jump ball in the endzone, over a Steelers CB, that was like 10 feet high. Terrific catch.

As a routine matter, the catch went to the replay booth for review. The ref took his sweet time looking at the play, and came back with one of the more amusing explanations I've heard (quote not exact): "The replay machine is malfunctioning, but by rule I have to look at it for two minutes. So...we go with the ruling on the field. Touchdown!"
