ok, so this isn't about baseball, but I was watching some of the Celtics pre-season NBA game and they were playing the Nets and Jay Williams was playing PG for NJ.

Now, I don't like New Jersey or Duke, but its great to see that Jay Williams is able to play again after that terrible accident when many thought he wouldn't play ever.

Also, so much for MLB live commenting

And that is why the Mets gave up on Looper and spent all that money on Wagner.

Great, I jinxed Wagner.

I have to say that I agree with the last post.

8:20 start on the East Coast? How are kids gonna watch that? Luckily I'm not a kid now cause if I was I sure as hell would want to see the playoffs and alot of parents won't let their kids stay up till 11:30 to watch a game. And tonight wasn't even long.

oliver perez is starting game 7 for the mets? are you fucking shitting me?

jesus, why don't we just give the tigers the trophy and get on with the hot stove talk already?

The Cards are the mlb version of the buffalo bills.

This is pretty amazing:

By winning, Maine also kept alive one of the most astounding trends ever dug up by the Elias Sports Bureau. He was the seventh rookie starter in history to start a postseason game with his team trailing, 3-2, in a best-of-seven series. Those rookies' teams now have won all seven of those games. Who knew?

Who knew indeed!

Mr. Pudding,
If you don't want Oliver Perez to start game 7 then who do you want to start?
Trachsel got totally shelled. Darren Oliver hasn't started a game in 3 years of something like that. He will be first out of the pen though.
If they win, Trachsel starts game 1 of the WS and Mets can set their rotation up.

The Mets have a rotation?

Is anyone else getting sick of all the "NL is AAAA/Tigers will win easily" talk? Especially from people that thought the Yankees would win it all? I'm thinking I'm going to change my earlier stance and root for the NL rep in the World Series, even if it is the Cards (obviously as a Mets fan I'd be rooting for them).

Willie Randolph really needs to tell David Wright to stop to getting hitting tips from ARod.

When do the Cardinals World Series tickets go up for sale?

Maybe Fox could put up Perez' stats from that 1 great year he had for the Pirates. Then at least th graphics wouldn't look so bad.
