Randy Moss to the Pats?!
(Plus: Coaches Get Axed!)

Uh, no. It was a great NFL Trade Deadline rumor while it lasted -- and that's about four hours, via the always-must-read folks at ProFootballTalk.com -- but it looks like Randy Moss will not be going to the Pats, a move that would have undoubtedly turned the NFL on its head, made many people's eyes bleed, triggered an implosion of coverage, etc. But the latest? It's a non-starter. Drat.

Meanwhile, the Ravens fired Jim Fassel, their O.C. And Dennis Green continued his Tuesday Tirade by firing the Cards' O.C. Hey, Fassel's looking for a new gig...

Hey guys,

I put an end to the fake dan shanoff problem.

1) The old Dan Shanoff was me
2) I opened Microsoft Word and wrote a bunch of characters and copied this to the clipboard
3) Went to the change email and changed this so I could never get a new password
4) I pasted the password I don't know
5) I saved it

Dan I am sorry for the whole fiasco. It was a dumb practical joke. I know I had said many times that I would stop but I persisted to use it. Now I have locked myself out of it and I had changed the email in there

My point: CONSIDER IT HISTORY. I love your blog. I'm just an immature idiot who was bored

Dammit, I wanted bleeding eyes! Is that too much to ask for on a Tuesday?

Honestly, I don't think the Pats want Moss. They just have cap space. Brady's developing good rapport with Doug Gabriel, another Raiders castoff. I think they'll be fine without him. Although I'd be curious how the Pats would deal with a "go-to" guy that they've survived just well without for years.

Really, with no Gabriel, Porter, and no Moss? Could the commish put the kibosh on such a deal anyway as not "good for the game" a la Bowie Kuhn used to do?

Granted, the raiders don't exactly have a QB to throw to any of those receivers, either.

I appreciate your effort, "DSI." I look forward to reading all the awesome comments you'll have for future posts -- with your real name! (Or, at least, the new fake name of your choice...like everyone else here!)

Could anyone see Randy Moss going to the Jets for L.Coles? Jets have cap room and they love Marshall players

If the Cards were smart, theyd try and woo Norm Chow away from the Titans.

they won't have to woo, after this season, my guess is Chow is canned with Fisher. They shouldn't be, but they will be. And then Vince Young will have to learn another offense and he'll struggle and people will call him a bust, and he'll start robbing grocery stores. And this all can be prevented by not firing Fisher and Chow.

Randy Moss in a Jets uniform?

ESPNY would have non-stop coverage on his every move.

I'm surprised to see the lack of coverage re: the punishment- I mean slap on the wrist - for the Miami/FIU brawl. It's not surprise that especially MU wants to get away with the minimum punishment necessary - the FB team makes them too much $$$. Same can be said for the ACC conf. - they want to do enough to say they acted, but want to minimize the financial pain. Disgraceful. Wish the NCAA would step in and offer appropriate punishment, similar to what the NBA did after Pistons/Pacers brawl.

From what I read last night, FIU is pretty much laying the hammer down on it's players. At least 2 were booted from the team and the rest involved suspended indefinitely. MU on the other hand is a disgrace. The president of the school flat out said there would be no additional punitive actions taken. The NCAA really does need to step in here.
