Sunday: NFL Week 2 Comment Tailgate!

Update for post-4 p.m. games: More half-cooked thoughts, prepping for tomorrow:

It's a little sad to see the Greatest Show on Turf turned into a no-show...

Has Herman Edwards been fired yet?

Who needs Deion Branch when the Pats have rookie Chad Jackson?

OK, picking the Cards over the Seahawks was my worst pick of the week (almost redeemed by taking the Vikings over the Panthers)...

No, the Ravens are not the best team in the NFL: The Chargers are.

Update for post-1 p.m. games: I'll have a full run-down tomorrow, but a few half-cooked thoughts:

The Dolphins-as-trendy-playoff-pick bandwagon is empty...

That goes double for the Panthers-as-trendy-Super-Bowl-champ bandwagon...

Brad Childress for NFL Coach of the Year?

Chad Johnson's Chicken Dance TD celebration (with a busted wing, no less) was a fine, fine season-opening effort...

You can try to see if Rex Grossman is still available on your fantasy waiver wire, but I doubt it...

Four Mario Williams couldn't have stopped Peyton today. (And certainly Reggie Bush wouldn't have helped)...

Speaking of Reggie, the Saints are 2-0 and Reggie Bush has had very little to do with it...

If only the Eagles could get "No O.T." to go with "No T.O.," they might have something...

Who nees Michael Vick to pass when he can rush for 127 yds and lead the team to 306 yds rushing?

My god: Are the Ravens the best team in the NFL right now? (Let's qualify the enthusiasm, please: They've shut down the Raiders and Bucs. Not exactly the Colts, those two...)

More after the 4 p.m. games.

Let's get your comments on the early-afternoon slate of games? Biggest Studs? Biggest Duds?

Biggest Shocking Prediction:
Packers 48, Saints 7 to make it an even 100-10 over the last two seasons.

Least Shocking Prediction:
Jaws needs a new pair of glasses. They totally don't work with his face.

New York Jets over the New England Patriots. Double the shock. Jets winning and also being 2-0.

Packers defense in the 1st Quarter: Sack/Fumble, Sack/Fumble, Interception deep in Packers territory, and now a 3 and out. Drew Bress is looking positively Brady Quinn-esque out there.

Aaron Brooks already got benched haha

Carolina just did one of the most bone-headed things I've ever seen. Up by 7, force a 4th down punt, and try to do some half-assed razzmatazz on the punt return that ends up giving Minnesota the ball on the 20 yard line of the Panthers. Un-freakin'-believable.

My prediction: Because of the convergence of Oktoberfest, the Herbstreit Ohio v. USA Challenge, and a game between the Browns and Bengals at PBS, someone in my apartment complex will puke right by the door for the third night in a row.

What does Chicago's day against the Lions' say about Seattle's offense? Not saying Seahawks fans should be panicking yet, but... well, maybe just a little.

It has become obvoius to me the success of the Giants season rests squarely on my not watching the games.

I stopped watching (as much as I could being at work) at 24-7. I will not be fooled into watching OT and causing my team to lose.

I really wish I had direct tv(seahawks-arizona,cheifs-broncos), so i'm not stuck watching my pats demolish those jets.

Does anyone want to give the Packers the #1 pick for next year now?

And where is Aaron Rodgers? I don't quite buy that the Saints are this good.

And so far, yes, Brad Childress = Coach of the Year. The only team who can give the Bears a run in the NFC North right now is Minnesota.

The Texans travels to Oakland 12/3. If that game isn't the reason for flexible scheduling, I don't know what is.

Maybe Porter will be active by then, after Moss commits some sort of 'cide' (homicide, suicide, Brookscide).

is it just me or is ed hochule looking less ripped these days? maybe its the new officials' threads...

also, it seems that the really, really bad offenses this season (Oakland, Tennessee, Tampa, Detroit) are worse than usual...and the qb play, ugh... Culpepper sucks, Farve sucks, Brooks/Walter sucks, Kitna sucks, Simms sucks ass, Collins sucks, etc.

i know its just week two, but geez, so many teams are having problems scoring early on.

Phil Simms is getting owned in an arguement about the overtime rule. It figures a douche like Simms would think the current rules are fair.

Also, leave it to Herm Edwards to have one of the best backs in the league, but having an offense that can't score a touchdown. I know it's a backup now, but they looked terrible with Green in there, too.

Ok, let's not start sucking the Vikes' dick yet, to paraphrase Mr. Wolf. If the Panthers don't botch (and botch horribly) that punt return, the Vikes probably lose the game.

Pack actually didn't look horrible today. That's good news, right? No way they're a shoo-in for the #1 with the way the Texans and Lions are playing.

Stud: Eli Manning!!! (2nd half and OT only; we'll just pretend that 1st half didn't happen)

Dud: Roy Williams...Hey, where were those 40 pts. you were yammering about???

And yes, Jaws glasses suck. Is he going for the Al Davis look?

That silence you here from the banks of the Delaware River is the sound of 2 million Eagles fans, collectively slitting their wrists at the same time.

Out here in Illinois, this Eagles fan threw one after another of his foam "hate bricks" at the TV as Da Boids gagged up a 17-point lead *at home*.

When will Andy Reid learn that you need a Roger Craig-style back in the WC Offense?? Is anyone else annoyed that Brian Westbrook is considered our "best" RB? And, after that costly fumble ... will Reid *finally* acknowledge that if they do not fear your running game, they will not fear *you*???

We should trade with the Chargers for Michael "The Burner" Turner, who had a buck-thirty-eight today for the Bolts. I had the pleasure of watching Turner during his career at NIU ... and he is a terrific back who deserves to be the featured back.

why do I keep drafting Willis McGahee? I mean really.
