New LeBron Nike TV Ad:
LeBron IS Hilarious

Have you seen...

The new LeBron Nike TV ad on YouTube?

Top contender for Catchphrase of the Fall:

"Ain't been nothing good like that since 'Sanford and Son.'"

Here's the link to the clip.
(Sorry, no embed.)

Update (2:05 p.m.): Big day for sneakers. Today, Adidas launched its new basketball-shoe campaign, geared around the phrase "It Takes 5ive."

(Presumably, you're supposed to pronounce the "5" like "F," which isn't nearly as cool as pronouncing "F" like "S," which would REALLY be old-school. Like 18th Century old-school -- when "Boo ya!" was more like "Boo ye!")

The tagline is integrated into its release of five shoes for five players: T-Mac, KG, Duncan, Billups and Arenas, who -- as blog readers know -- should be the star of any/all campaigns. It takes Gilbert, my friends! (Count me as a first-day purchaser for his shoe release.)

Uhm... pretty dumb in my opinion. Not to mention the awful "floating head" affect you get for the LeBron sitting on the wall judging the dunks.

Just wondered where the whining Lebron and the fingernail biting LeBron were for the ad?

Wait, that was supposed to be good? Come on Dan. That was not even close to funny.

That has to be the worst use of CGI i've ever seen. And seriously, while we're missing lebron's where is the "sucks on team USA" or "ballhog" lebron. Although maybe that's the guy with the Bentley, can't figure it out. I miss Mars Blackmon.

Comon guys, it's obviously a work in progress.

I think these adds are great.

I like the last line of the ad FAR more. What's the O/U for when Michael Smith busts out his impression of it on Around the Horn?

I miss only reading The Sports Guy's lines in his columns, ben.

Oh, no - it didn't get by me.

I'm a little disturbed by Dan's admission that he goes out and buy sneakers on release day.

That looks like straight cut and paste, Ben. nice.

My favorite LeBron commercials are the one with him overcoming hype, envy, etc.
and the LeBrons commercial where they break it down to Supafreak..but I can't find that second one on youtube.
