Finally!

Man, MSU is really hungover. Stanton is still in give-the-ball-away mode from that last quarter against ND. Long day against Illinois.

I just hope they aren't super pissed next weekend in Ann Arbor...

I can't believe the Illini right now. And did anyone see the report of the two Memphis players in their backfield being suspended JUST before the game? The line (13) didn't move, and I'm glad I bit on it!

By the way, Oregon is going ROLL.

john (east lansing, mi) said...

Here come the Spartans, maybe that defensive play can wake up the whole team.

Even with that lil' push in the back...

Nevermind. Mario Manningham is gonna score 100 points next week.

30 minutes until the varsity game! (UF/Bama)

Dan, Did you know Spurrier will be at his second UF game this year. He's still a Gator at heart.

Go Gators.

I can't believe the gators are 13.5 fav's. That is retarded. they have only beaten bama once at home. I think they are like 1-8 against them. I remember the last time they came to town and chandler missed the xp. MY last semester at UF what a shame. Bama has a good D. Its gonna be close. Im already sweating it. Thank god prothro is still out. That guy was amazing in last yrs game.

Have you checked out the throwbacks the gators are sporting today. Spurrier in the ring of honor. Never mind my last post we are gonna roll. Maybe we can get spurrier out on the field to kick for us. Hell his right foot won him the heisman against auburn in 66.

Thought ASU would put up more of a fight than this. Am surprised at the Alabama Florida score. Anyone else besides me tired of seeing Notre Dame on tv?

Remember when John L. Smith was a hot commodity? Those were the days.

Win one for the Zooker...

Unfortunately the Cardinals rallied in the eigth to win against the Brewers. Hopefully the 'Stros pull out a win against Atlanta tonight.

Bama has the talent to win against just about anyone, but an incompetent head coach and OC caps their chances for consistent success. Especially now that they're deep into their SEC slate.

Matt Hooper Presents said...

Someone is repeatedly pressing the clear button on their Xbox...the camera is shaking on the Bama-UF broadcast

The heroin sheik said...

Now that the gators have the lead do you think they will hold on to it. COdy I think bama is that good. We play like this we wont beat lsu or auburn.

Matt Hooper Presents said...

CBS just flash a great stat for all those that agree Mike Shula is a fraud as a major college coach...he is 0-14 when trailing heading into the fourth quarter.

Way to close strong Junior

Bama's hits keep right on coming: 22 red-zone trips...6 TDs.

it started when abc quit carrying sec games. What I hate is how we get verne lundquist announcing the game. I miss hearing keith jacksons voice on SEC games. God that was a while ago when he stopped doing that.

Thank god the refs didnt overturn that interception. I think we might be able to pull it out since a td probably ices the game.

dallas baker touchdown maker! Does anyone else think he is going to be the exception to the gator receivers in the NFL sucking rule?

The heroin sheik said...

That was sick!

The heroin sheik said...

D jack is above average but give him time. I honestly think that stereotype is solely because of hilliard, quez, reidel, and doering. Those guys were so great in college and didn't do squat in the pros. Neither did pretty much anyone on the offensive side of the ball with the possible exception of fred taylor. We should have known spurrier wouldn't succeed in the NFL.

Wake Forest wins! The Rutgers-Wake Forest Championship Dream Lives!

5 minutes to Ohio State-Iowa.

Anyone else notice I correctly predicted GA Tech upsetting VA Tech? Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Steve said...

Nope no one noticed :P

Georgia is struggling against Ole Miss. A team Wake Forest beat easily. Yeah, methinks Georgia is overrated.

Can someone alert Iowa's football team that there's a game on? And while we're at it, can someone let the refs know it's ok to call Holding against Iowa, the fans won't hurt you if you do?

Cougars making it interesting for USC. Between that and Auburn's close game with the real USC, OSU should be given all 1st place votes this weekend (presuming Iowa doesn't make a comeback).

Thoughts from the Swamp: The first half was mostly forgettable, but overall a very encouraging game vs Bama. The Swamp figured out how to properly cheer for Tebow and Leak, Tebow threw a 23 yard pass on 3rd-and-3 (which was great), Chris Leak ran for 45 yards to set up a TD (which was better) and the defense held Bama to under 100 yards rushing and only 6 points (which was best).

LSU next week is extremely scary, but it should be a great great game--an SEC slugfest that might also have some (gasp!) offense.

Oh and one more thing: Go Zooker!

I love how he's good for one miracle a year.

I can't help it: I love that man. That is all.

Christian Thoma said...

Well, after some math in the quickie thread yesterday, I predicted OSU 38, Iowa 11. So I had the OSU score right =)

Well, I guess we've answered the question as to how Ohio State would handle a "poised" experienced QB.

Finally, Son of Animal has an INT in 4 straight games. Where's the Elias Sports Bureau, I have to think that's either a record for a LB or ties one. If not, I need Elias to set me straight.

How annoyed do you think Dan will be if WVU jumps two places to #2 while Idle?

chrth,

Dont forget, Auburn beat Washington St. by 30 this year. Not to compare scores... I'm just sayin'...

LOOK AT THAT IOWA SMACK DOWN!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo!!!!
OSU only wins by 21, what an unimpressive win!

Screw you Lenny! Not to mention Corso

Michigan waxes Minnesota 28-14, and it wasn't even that close.

The Gophers are heading for another sub-.500 Big Ten season. This means Glen Mason will have had two winning conference seasons in ten tries, and will never have even come close to a conference title.

Given last week's news that his program is also last in the conference in graduation rates, I ask you: what does this guy have to do to get fired?

Maher said...

My question is, did anyone else think the refs were in the pocket of Iowa the whole game?

To not even review what should have been Mitchell's 2nd INT of the night was pure crap.

Ginn dropped that ball inside the five yard line how again?

I watched Purdue get hit with a late hit today that was iffy at best, but it is ok to tackle Pittman 5 yds out of bounds.

was this the crew that screwed Oregon?

how come after OSU rolls over its opponents the "experts" are so quick to change their pre-game opinions and say they overrated the Buckeye opposition?

Funny how in the span of 4 hours Corso (who I know just plays up to the home crowd) and the gang have shifted from their best Dicky V. impressions "IT'S UPSET CITY FOR THE BUCKEYES!"

I can't wait for 11/18 when that team up north comes to town and we're both 11-0.

anarchy in the O-H.

Maher said...

The Poll should look like this:

1.OSU
2.Mich
3. ...doesn't matter until after 11/18

Christian Thoma said...

@chris maher: yeah, I noticed that about the refs as well. Let me go check the box score ... yep, just as I thought. No penalties called on Iowa. Unreal. I saw several holds (including on the last Iowa TD), a pass interference, and of course the previously mentioned Tedd Ginn catch/no-catch. Granted, OSU only got called on 3 penalties as well--so the refs were letting them play--but I think it's lousy that the refs won't be called to task for the game because it was an OSU rout. They should be held accountable in games that aren't close, too.

Where's Lenny!?

Christian Thoma said...

Also, Drew Tate is an idiot. "We gave them 2 touchdowns. Take that away, and it's a close game." Uh, you'd still lose by 14. OSU was polite and didn't score on the last drive when they easily could have...which of course pisses me off no end because they would've won by 28, within the standard deviation of the 27 I calculated based on other opponents. Ah well, last thing we want is crazy theories to be proved.

(resubmitted due to egregious spelling errors)

Maher said...

why wasn't anything said at all this week about Tate swiping the ball at that Illinois player last week?

no penalties? not that I don't trust you, but jeez, I have to see that for myself.
