CFB Saturday Tailgate!

It's our weekly college football Saturday tailgate! Pre-game, mid-game and post-game, break down all the plotlines and intrigues that develop over the course of the day. I, of course, will be spending the day getting ready for -- then obsessing through -- the Florida-LSU game. I expected Herbstreit to pick against them, but Corso's pick of UF was a bit of a shock.

Meanwhile, I'm not sure there's a better College GameDay background than Florida. The best sign was a clever student who had a picture of Borat in a UF tank-top, along with the phrase "Great Success."

I think Borat is going to be THE dominant pop-culture icon between now and the end of the year. When his image is crashing College GameDay in Gainesville, that's a huge sign. Success!!

Get on those Comments, y'all, and have fun this afternoon watching games.

As a Bama fan, the only thing better than a Crimson Tide victory is an AU-ful performance by the Tigers. Go Hogs!

At the risk of sounding like TMQ, why was Auburn punting, down by 17 with 2:20 left? Were they trying to keep the margin of victory down? Geez....Arkansas was going to run out the clock either at THEIR 30, or at Auburn's 30 if they didn't make it.

well, with auburn (formerly my pick) losing to the razorbacks, that will go to usc.

the sec will kill themselves for the bcs...

if anyone gets out there unscathed, they HAVE to be in BCS championship game @ glendale

Random thoughts on the day:

LSU could not have played worse if they tried. How many fumbles / ints did they have? And FLA still only won by 13 at home?

PAC-10 officials once again screw up. Anyone watch the end of the USC game?

MSU is terrible. Fire Coach Slappy now.

Tex beats OU, yet OSU will still get no credit for beating TEX.

Top 4 should look like this

OSU
FLA
MICH
WVU

tebow's pass was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. I could have done without VL slurping on Lou Holtz as the reason that play was in Meyer's playbook...he doesn't even call the plays right?

as for Corso, when was the last time he DIDN'T pick the home team Dan?

He always does it to be a crowd pleasing sideshow. He brings no value to the first 1:59:30 of the show.

For those keeping track, here is a Shula coaching background:

Don: 347-173-6. Enough said.

David: began as a coach for the Dolphins under Don. Moved to Dallas as an offensive coordinator in 1989. The Cowboys finished 1-15-0 and were shut out 3 times. Head coach of the Bengals from 1992 to 1997, went 19-53. Now cutting steaks for a living.

Mike: Has losses against Northern Illinois, Hawaii and South Carolina. No wins against LSU or Auburn. One win against Arkansas in four tries. 0-14 when trailing after three quarters.

And during his signature win over the Gators last year, he left our one playmaker in the blowout for a quarter too long, probably ending his career. Our offense, for which he calls the plays, has sucked ever since.

Oh. And he is trying to give Duke the biggest upset of the year. I hear their is a lot of money in the restaurant business...Mike?

Ok, did anyone else who watched the S.Carolina/Kentucky game want to vomit everytime Andre Ware started gushing man-love for the Kentucky QB? For a minute I thought Ware was going to go down on the sidelines and give the guy a blowjob.

CF in C -
What about Tebow? I believe those stats match L. Tomlinson's career passing stats pretty well, unless he's thrown a third touchdown by now. And the deal is the same - guys throwing to the endzone on surprising and well-designed trick plays succeed if they don't fuck up.

We hear enough stats, don't make too much of a stat that obviously doesn't matter at all.
